Grainward Flooring · Flooring & interiors
A clearer way forward underfoot.
Making a wide world of flooring feel easier to navigate.
Concept case study. A fictional brand and business scenario, not a commissioned client project or measured-results claim.

The business scenario
Making the business easier to choose.
A flooring company bringing installation, wood restoration, repairs, tile and commercial work under one roof.
What stands in the customer’s way
One visitor wants a new surface. Another hopes to save an existing floor. A material catalogue alone cannot help both decide where to begin. The website needed to connect different starting points to the right service and a useful conversation.
The customer’s perspective
What customers need to know.
- Find help by the job they need, even without knowing a material.
- Compare surfaces without losing sight of everyday use and care.
- Understand what the company handles before requesting a consultation.
What we created
A design with the customer in mind.
- 01
Two starting points, one coherent website.
Services and Materials have their own destinations. Someone with scratched boards can go straight to refinishing, while someone planning a new room can begin with material choices. Neither has to navigate the other person’s shopping journey.
The intended benefit: a broad offer becomes easier to understand and explore.
- 02
Tradeoffs that help people decide.
The material guide gives different surfaces a consistent comparison, with practical strengths and limitations visible. Supporting detail expands only when needed. This makes the guide useful without asking the visitor to become a flooring specialist.
The intended benefit: the business can begin with a more informed conversation.
- 03
Explain the work beneath the finish.
Service copy makes preparation, matching limits, access and care concrete. Refinishing distinguishes recoating from sanding, and drying from full cure. The company takes responsibility for assessment and recommendations.
The intended benefit: confidence comes from understanding the approach, not a vague promise.
- 04
Make room for an unfinished idea.
An inspiration gallery keeps full room images visible and supports material filters. The consultation accepts uncertainty and optional detail; on a phone, the form comes before longer supporting information.
The intended benefit: visitors can express what they know and ask for help with the rest.

What this work demonstrates
Complex service architecture, useful comparison copy and visual browsing brought together in one distinctive, responsive experience.
Scope & context
Eleven pages, original identity and imagery, material comparisons, an interactive gallery and inquiry preview. This example exceeds the standard ten-page allowance. Its form does not transmit an inquiry.
The benefits described here are design intentions, not measured business results. This concept demonstrates the work and reasoning Eventide can bring to an appropriate project.
