Wood board repairs
A damaged section may be repaired or replaced where the surrounding floor is sound and compatible material can be sourced.
Species, dimensions, age, grain and finish all affect the match. An invisible repair cannot be promised.
Floor repairs & subfloor preparation
A damaged board or an uneven spot is the visible part of the story. We assess the surrounding floor and the surface beneath it so the repair addresses the right problem.
Plan your flooring
The right approach
We help determine whether a local repair is suitable or whether the floor needs a wider plan.
A damaged section may be repaired or replaced where the surrounding floor is sound and compatible material can be sourced.
Species, dimensions, age, grain and finish all affect the match. An invisible repair cannot be promised.
We assess damaged tiles, loose areas and awkward joins to understand whether an isolated repair is appropriate.
A surface crack may reflect movement underneath. Matching discontinued tile or grout can limit the available options.
Before a new floor is fitted, we assess the substrate against the chosen product's flatness, moisture and stability requirements.
Flat does not necessarily mean level. The right preparation depends on the substrate and the flooring system, not a universal coating.

Substrate assessment informs the installation plan.
Preparation that earns its place
A new covering cannot correct every underlying condition. We look for signs of movement, weak areas, old adhesive and moisture concerns, then explain the preparation needed for the proposed floor.
Some conditions only become visible after removal. If the work reveals a larger issue, we pause that part of the installation, explain what we found and agree how the scope should change.
Active leaks, unresolved moisture and structural movement need the cause addressed. Specialist building or plumbing work is not automatically included.
Before work begins
Repair cost depends on investigation, access, matching materials, preparation and how much surrounding work is needed. We make the scope and visual limits clear.
We assess the affected area and nearby floor for clues about wear, impact, movement or moisture. Where another trade needs to resolve the underlying issue, that becomes part of the sequence before a cosmetic repair.
Spare boards or tiles can be useful, but we still check their condition and compatibility. If the original is unavailable, we discuss a visible transition, a larger replacement area or another finish strategy.
Lifting neighboring boards, removing trim, adjusting a threshold or blending a finish may extend beyond the obvious damage. We explain that work in the proposed scope rather than treating the damaged spot in isolation.
We describe the likely visual difference, access requirements and any investigation or preparation allowances. If concealed conditions alter the plan, additional work is discussed before it is carried out.
A little more clarity
Photos can help explain the location and appearance of the problem, but they cannot confirm the condition below the floor. You can begin with a description; we decide what needs to be assessed in person.
It depends on where the movement occurs and what can be accessed. We assess the assembly and explain whether a local fastening or repair approach is suitable. We do not promise to eliminate every sound in an existing floor.
Unresolved moisture should not simply be covered. We assess the flooring requirements and explain what must be resolved or investigated before installation can proceed.
